Jump clinic
So, today I went to a wonderful 3 1/2 hour clinic and it was so good. Maggie and I did so well, mostly her.
Deb really got at me to break some of my bad habits that I learned at school. “Riding the hand break” she calls it. Also, she said that sometimes I just need to let Maggie figure it all out on her own and not correct her so much. We worked on keeping my shoulders open and not letting them fall forward before and/or over the jump.
I got such amazing gaits from Maggie today, she was amazing and she really picked her body up nicely. Deb said that she couldn’t believe how athletic Maggie is. I really hope to jump her come show season.
One of the girls told me that she hopes one day she rides as well as I do. I told her that I’ve been riding so long, and that’s why I’m half as good as I am. She’ll get there. It feels cool to know that people look up to me, I try to stay modest, but it really is a great feeling.
